The Naylor Room

This sumptuous room with its wide bay overlooks Olivers front lawn and heritage precinct. It is named after Benjamin Naylor, a man of remarkable foresight, who arrived in Clyde in 1862 at the time of the Otago gold rush and built the New Victoria General Store. In 1929 an art deco restoration transformed this room with the addition of an ornate plaster ceiling, art deco fireplace and a large bay window.

This historic Central Otago accommodation allows you to experience history with modern luxuries, with a contemporary bathroom which has access to Olivers spacious front lawn and gardens.

The Horn Room

In 1909 James Horn bought the Olivers complex describing it to friends as a "residence built of stone that has every modern convenience with outhouses of stone." The Horn Room is a far cry from its early 20th century predecessor although it retains the same romantic charm.

The luxurious room, with its 1880s fireplace and bay window, has an exquisitely draped Victorian half-tester bed while the ensuite features a claw foot bath and separate shower. The room provides easy access to the secluded Olivers courtyard.

The Sullivan Room

The name Fleur Sullivan and Olivers are synonymous. The Sullivan Room recognises her incredible contribution as a Central Otago tourism and hospitality pioneer. Fleur acquired the property in 1981 and named it Olivers. Her vision and skill established Olivers as a leading restaurant which became nationally and internationally renowned.

The room is beautifully furnished with ornate wallpaper and features a 19th century fireplace and sash window overlooking Olivers lawn and gardens.

The Smoke House

The Smoke House is inspired by the original smoke-room where bacon, ham and other delicacies were smoked and sold in the general store during the 1860s and later, by owner Benjamin Naylor.

A focal point of this premier room is the old claw foot bath where guests can literally “soak up” the fascinating history reinforced by the traditional schist walls and other 19th century features. French doors open onto the sunny Olivers courtyard.
